Spartanburg County School
District Four is located in the town of Woodruff, South Carolina, which is the
southern part of Spartanburg County. The area is between I-26 and I-85 with
easy access to the cities of Spartanburg and Greenville. The city of Woodruff
has a population of approximately 4,000 residents. District Four encompasses
the largest geographic area of the seven Spartanburg County school districts,
as it spans from Greenville County to Laurens and Union Counties.
Spartanburg District Four
has a student population of approximately 3,000 students and serves families
within the town limits of Woodruff, as well as the surrounding rural communities
of Cross Anchor, Enoree, Switzer, Green Pond, and Crescent. District Four is
comprised of four schools with all students within designated grade bands
attending the same school. This unique structure is referred to as a single
attendance zone school district.
Children begin preschool
together and progress through each of the schools as classmates. They graduate with
strong bonds and a sense of family. Woodruff Primary School serves
approximately 900 students in PreK through 2nd grade. Woodruff
Elementary School (3rd – 5th Grades) and Woodruff Middle
School (6th – 8th Grades) serve approximately 600 students
each. Woodruff High School serves approximately 800 students in 9th
– 12th grades.
Spartanburg District Four
is accredited by AdvancED and the SC Department of Education. District Four is consistently
recognized for its high achievement on a variety of measures. It is able to
achieve outstanding results while maintaining one of the lowest per pupil
expenditures in South Carolina. These results are due to the strong parental
and community support, outstanding staff, and high expectations for all
students.
