Beliefs

WE BELIEVE:

Everyone has the right to a quality education, either in the traditional school environment or in an alternative learning environment suited to his or her individual needs.

All students have individual and unique abilities endowing them with the potential to learn.

Education is multidimensional, based on the needs of the individual, community, and society.

Classroom learning is basic preparation for making a variety of life choices, for effective functioning in a technological society, and for continued life-long learning.

Small class size is crucial to successful learning and aids in fostering rapport between the teacher and his/her students.

A vital part of education is the systematic growth toward mature, responsible, productive citizenship.  Self-discipline, mutual respect, and dignity are essential in all aspects of society.

Good mental, physical, and emotional health are conducive to success in school.

Facilities, resources, and equipment should be provided, maintained, and updated as needed to enhance the instructional program/process and to maintain a clean, orderly, safe environment.

Teacher input is essential to all facets of education.

The community, teachers, parents, families, peers, and the individual students share the responsibility for developing attitudes conducive to learning and for achieving success in school.

Teaching is an important and significant profession.  Both teaching and learning can be challenging, exciting, and fulfilling.
