MAKE-UP WORK

Make every effort to be at school when projects or homework are due.  If you are not able to attend school, please realize that it will be difficult to obtain a full understanding of the material that was presented in class on the day of your absence.  When you are absent it is your responsibility to determine what work was missed, what notes were taken, and what handouts were distributed.  Find out the information you missed on the day you return to school.  If a test has been scheduled for the day you return to school and notice was given before your absence, you will be expected to take the test at the scheduled time.  The same policy will apply to projects with an assigned deadline.

COURSE EXPECTATIONS/LAB PROCEDURES

  1. Classes begin when the tardy bell rings.  Students are tardy if they are not inside the classroom and collecting their materials when the bell rings.  Promptness is a common courtesy to your teacher and classmates.  Demerits will be given based on the guidelines provided in the student handbook.

  1. NO food, drinks, or gum will be allowed in the computer lab.

  1. Students must report needed repairs to the teacher promptly.  Any computer or printer, which is in need of repair because of abuse, will be repaired at the student’s expense.

  1. Because security is so important in a networked environment, students will be sent immediately for disciplinary action if an attempt to enter or alter the system is made.  All software and hardware offenses will be considered vandalism.

  1. Because of the possibility of the introduction or damaging of non-licensed programs, diskettes may not be brought into or taken out of the computer lab under any circumstances.

  1. Necessary classroom supplies (textbooks, notebooks, pencils, pens, etc.) are to be brought to class every day.  However, you may keep your notebook in the bookshelf each day unless it will be needed for homework or to study.

  1. Unacceptable classroom behavior will not be tolerated.  Use common sense and good manners as your guide to classroom behavior and avoid anything that will disrupt the class or your neighbors.

  1. Be familiar with the Student Handbook—all school policies will be enforced in this class and demerits will be given accordingly.

  1. The school policy for cheating will be adhered to as stated in the student handbook.  Cheating does include copying another student’s work that been completed on a disk.

  1. Any computer work missed or incomplete must be completed in the classroom.  Alternative arrangements may be made for students with extended absences.

  1. Materials should be put away no more than 3 – 5 minutes before the end of the period.

  1. You will be expected to use the computers only for work that has been assigned, unless the teacher has given permission to do otherwise.  All computer use must follow the Technology Practices Agreement as stated in your handbook.

  1. Respect each other. Have a good attitude. Respect the ideas of others. Be polite.
