BEHAVIORAL GUIDELINES:

I do not anticipate discipline problems; however, should a problem arise, I will follow the discipline policy as outlined in the Woodruff High School Student Handbook.   In addition to the school policies, the following classroom policies will be observed:

 1.  Respect your teacher and fellow students.  Obscene language and disrespect will not be tolerated.

 2.  Take care of your space.  Do not leave any materials in the desk (including lab desk).  Do not litter the floor or write on the desks. Do not put trash in drawers.

 3.  Do not engage in any activity that interferes with your learning or another student's learning.  No note writing or passing and no talking.

 4. Be ready to start class when the tardy bell rings.

Students who must return to their lockers to get assignments or materials after the tardy bell rings will be considered tardy.

 5.  Do not mistreat the animals.

 6.  Do not enter the laboratory area without the teacher's permission.

 7.  The storeroom is off-limits to students unless specifically directed by teacher.

8.  When the bell rings at the end of class, wait for the teacher to dismiss the class.

11.  I turn in “chewers” to the office (gum, candy, etc.)  I do not usually stop class to do so.

BEHAVIORAL CONSEQUENCES:

1.  Any improper conduct that falls under the demerit system will be referred to the office.

2.  Other improper conduct will be handled in the following manner:

First offense:  The student will receive a warning.

Second offense:  Disciplinary action will be taken-- a

student/teacher conference, loss of break time, a

parent contact, referral to the office, or any

           combination of the above actions.

EXCEPTION: Mistreatment of animals is an automatic office referral.

3.  Any action that severely disrupts the classroom procedures or endangers the health or well-being of the teacher or another student will result in an immediate referral to the office.
