Dr. Maya Angelou at Wake Forest University 

On Wednesday, March 26, 2003, four English teachers from Woodruff High School attended Maya Angelou's poetry class performance at Wake Forest University.  Ms. Jane Kennedy, Ms. Becky Godfrey, Ms. Frankie Mason and Ms. Kim Dionne were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet and talk with Dr. Angelou. Ms. Mason's daughter Ashley participated in this poetry reading event, dramatizing Robert Burns' poem "A Red, Red Rose."  After the event, the group enjoyed dinner at the Graylyn Mansion in North Carolina.
