District 4 - A Special Place

Our school community is only minutes away from the bustling cities of Greenville and Spartanburg. District Four is the largest geographic district in Spartanburg County. Conveniently positioned in the center of three major highways (I-26, I-85, and I-385), District Four is only a short distance from the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP), and is easily accessible to scenic mountain areas, the coast and major cities such as Atlanta and Charlotte.

District Four has just over 2900 students, and is comprised of four schools, enabling students to be classmates from kindergarten through high school. The small size of the school district allows teachers and administrators to know students by name and communicate with them on a personal level. District Four is a progressive school system that maintains long-standing traditions and pride. We strive to employ teachers and administrators that are dedicated to providing a quality education for your child. Our community and school board support a strong discipline policy that guarantees students the right to learn in a safe and supportive learning environment. We are proud of an expansive curriculum for all students that includes a large selection of Advanced Placement courses, gifted and talented programs, as well as remediation programs and services for special needs students.

Our Mission

The mission of Spartanburg County School District Four is to prepare students to become confident, competent, respectful, and responsible individuals by creating a positive, innovative, safe and nurturing school environment in which staff, caregivers, and the community work together to provide opportunities for all students to achieve educational success and to become lifelong learners.

Our Vision

Our students will be engaged in meaningful experiences to fully develop social, emotional, physical and intellectual talents and abilities during their educational journey and throughout their lives.

District Four Named One of Most Productive School Districts in SC

The Center for American Progress has released its latest report, Return on Educational Investment: A District-by-District Evaluation of US Educational Productivity. The project measures the academic achievement a school district produces relative to its educational spending. Districts’ poverty rates are also factored into the ratings. Work on the project included input from the US Chamber of Commerce, Standard and Poors, and the American Enterprise Institute. The report ranks all school districts in each of the fifty states of the union. Click here to link to the report.
